Big Boys Don’t Cry

Maxie, "At school, Anna woke up and said that her ear hurt her",
Me, "Oh, did she cry?"
Maxie, "No, she is a big girl. Big girl do not cry".
Me, "really? do big boys cry?"
Maxie, "Sometimes, big boys cry."

papa Erik

Hey folks! Best wishes to y'all for 2011!

Let me tell you about papa Erik visiting me last Xmas. He arrived some days after Teddy. Papa Erik was here for two weeks and you can say that I kept him busy while he visited me. This time he stayed with me in one of my four houses. He slept in my bed room so I could watch over him at night.

We played together, we watched Nemo (4 times), Pink Panther (540 times) Barbapapa (1.000 times), read Toy Story (7 times) and had all kinds of fun. I really enjoyed our walks to the coffee bar where we had Red Velvet Cake. My favorite! Well, of course the Napoleon cake that my baba Gina makes is my most favorite cake of all times …

Anyway, we spent Xmas together and New Year. Papa bought me all kinds of presents and entertained me 24/7. I made sure I never escaped his attention. How? Well, here are some videos you can all learn from. It's an online 'How to keep daddy busy in 5 lessons'.

Enjoy!

LESSON 1 – EAT

I like to eat candies, raisins, bananas, sugared raspberries, cereals, ice-cream and cake. Eating is very important. I take my time to eat, because it's very important to chew for better digestion. Sometimes people are impatient with me, so they start feeding me. But I'm not a baby!

If people don't do what I want them to do, I try a next strategy: cry baby. That doesn't always work. Which is sad. Especially when mommy and daddy are together this cry baby trick seldom works.

LESSON 2 – BRUSH TEETH

After eating it is important to brush your teeth. With me that's a special ritual: take toothbrush, take toothpaste, brush, brush some more, clean toothbrush, take water, put water in cup, gurgle water, close toothpaste tube, open toothpaste tube, lick toothpaste tube, close it, open it, lick it, close it, open it, lick it some more, put toothbrush back in cup, put toothpaste back in cup, put cup back in a specific place and not one millimeter too far or too close from the mirror. It's quite a responsibility, but I can handle it.

That's all for now, folks! Next time more lessons.

Happy times!

Goin’ Home

Hey there! My name is Teddy. Max sent me to 'old Europe' to explore things there and report about my adventures. Being generation Y I will blog about, of course. Deuh!

Today is a big day. I'm going home! Papa Erik brought me to Schiphol Airport. On the bicycle of course. These crazy Dutch people do everything on their bicycle. Rain, snow, storm, it doesn't bother them. Look at me in the snow! It's good that I'm a bear, with a thick fur. So I won't get cold too easy.

It's also a good thing that papa Erik gave me lot's of hot milk with honey. Hmmm, I looooove honey! That kept me warm for a long time. But the bike ride to Schiphol was long too.

I'm so happy to see Max again. I've been away for a long time. Oh boy, it was an adventure indeed! I made so many new friends! I hope to see them again some time. I guess my boss Max will one day come to the Netherlands and visit papa Erik. And I will travel with Max of course. Someone has to take care of Max. A bear is good for protection. We are strong and we are soft. And we looooove honey!

Bye bye y'all! Love you!

Dutch windmills

Hey there! My name is Teddy. Max sent me to 'old Europe' to explore things there and report about my adventures. Being generation Y I will blog about, of course. Deuh!

Today we – papa Erik and Relinde – went out jogging. These crazy people run 7 km. in the cold. Brrrr! I prefer to stay inside. I'm more of a housebear myself.

Like papa Erik, Relinde lives on a houseboat too. I can't believe these Dutch people. Living on a boat! But there were ducks too. I liked that. And we had a cafxe9 latte with honey. Hmmmm, I looooove honey!

Halfway our jogging experience I saw two beautiful Dutch windmills. Amazing! Two of them! I made a movie of them. With me as the main character. Look at me! I'm a real movie star!

Teddy in Denmark

Hey there! My name is Teddy. Max sent me to 'old Europe' to explore things there and report about my adventures. Being generation Y I will blog about, of course. Deuh!

I survived the Denmark trip! We went through Germany in a flash, so I have not more to say about Germany than: they have no speed limits …

But once in Denmark the good life started. There's one thing I like as much as honey – oh boy, I loooove honey – and that's: fish! Well, the Danes have lots and lots of fish. I ate fish all day and had honey for dessert. Happy times!

This is the Aarhus harbour. Here is where papa Erik and I bought my fish every morning. Hmmmmm, nice little fishes!

After eating fish, we went to Aboulevard to have drinks. With honey. Oh boy, I looooove honey!

Going Up North

Hey there! My name is Teddy. Max sent me to 'old Europe' to explore things there and report about my adventures. Being generation Y I will blog about, of course. Deuh!

Today we travel to Denmark! Oh boy, I'm so excited. The Danes loooooove herring! And other fish. And after honey – you people know i loooooove honey – I like fish very very much.

I'm travelling with papa Erik and Contentgirl Xaviera. She's a nice lady. She takes good care of me. Keep me warm and feed me honey. I looooove honey!

We travel by car, so we travel through Germany before we arrive in Denmark. Max has some relatives there. I will say 'Hi' to them. And I will take some pictures of Germany too. For the record.

That was it for now. I'll blog again some time later. Have a good day and don't forget the honey. I looooove honey!

With papa Erik at work

Hey there! My name is Teddy. Max sent me to 'old Europe' to explore things there and report about my adventures. Being generation Y I will blog about, of course. Deuh!

Today papa Erik took me – with the bicycle – to his office in Utrecht, an old city in the center of the Netherlands. Look at me, having a great view of the old city. I like the Dom Tower very much. Check it out at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dom_Tower_of_Utrecht.

I enjoyed this office terrace very much. Having tea there with honey. I looooooove honey!

But we had to work too. I helped papa Erik with his work. Explained what social media is and how to do it. It was hard work, indeed.

DSC_0023

That was it for today. I'll blog again tomorrow. Have a good day and don't forget the honey. I looooove honey!

Teddy goes ‘old Europe’

Hey there!

My name is Teddy. Max sent me to 'old Europe' to explore things there and report about my adventures. Being generation Y I will blog about, of course. Deuh!

Oh boy, the flight was looooong! And I wasn't really flying business class. I finally arrived at Schiphol Airport. My first time I crossed the ocean. Wow! Then someone put me in a green mailbox and I had to wait all day before 'papa Erik' picked me up.

But after he did everything went better. He took really care of me. Gave me honey. I loooove honey! And then put me to bed. I slept so good. Especially because papa Erik gave me a nice little train that my boss Max gave him some time ago. That made me feel less homesick. And in the morning, when I woke up I felt really good.

DSC_0008

Good morning!

I had a very nice breakfast. With honey of course. I loooove honey! Hmmmmm. It makes my tummy feel round and warm.

DSC_0002
After breakfast I explored the environment.

I forgot to tell you that papa Erik lives on a boat. A houseboat. With very special neighbours: Mr. Goose and his friend. And all the ducks. We had an interesting conversation about the meaning of life, the universe and everything.

DSC_0015

Then we went to work. But I will report about that tomorrow. I'm still suffering from jet lag. So … good night! Sleep well! Don't forget the honey. I looooove honey.
